Hunt has an opportunity to expand his ranch but is worried about whether he can afford it. The opportunity is tremendous, but he needs to find a way to buy it. Hunt’s friend, Charles Crawford, confronts Hunt and asks for his help to find the people who are stealing his steel rails and who caused one of the trains to derail, resulting in three deaths. A gold mining payroll shipment was robbed, and two men were killed. Hunt sends his best men to find the bandits and bring them to justice. A group of nine thieves hit the bank in Denver, killing two people. Hunt is shot when he runs out into the street to stop the bandits, not knowing there were so many of them.
