Hunt has his hands full as he escorts Bella and Eduardo Ricardo to the Green River Ranch along with a bunch of ornery loggers. In this episode of Hunt’s life, he has a man hell-bent on killing him, expanding his landholdings, and starting a new business. They finally get started logging, and Hunt watches the men fell the first large tree and knows he has chosen good men by the quick and efficient way they trim the branches and save the larger chunks of branches for firewood. They wasted little of the enormous pines. The sawmill workers fired up the massive steam engine that powered the saw, and Hunt was amazed at how smooth and efficient the men were. Soon, the men were working like they had been doing this for years. A Wells Fargo Stagecoach was found on its side at the bottom of a ravine, and bodies were strewn for a hundred yards. Hunt’s men are sent on a mission to find the man or men responsible for the loss of six lives, four horses, a stagecoach, and the cash box. The brother of the man they had tracked to Amarillo, Slade Taylor, arrives in Denver looking for revenge. Just when it appeared everything was normal again, Slade Taylor’s brother strikes. The courageous young sheriff Hunt had met in Green River, Sheriff Jethro Smyth, shows up in Denver and asks Hunt for a job. Hunt buys another ranch, decides to turn it into a Clydesdale breeding farm, and travels to Topeka in hopes of acquiring more Clydesdale horses.
