Charles seeks the help of Attorney William Bulger of Boston, whose father had previously owned the construction company in Vallejo. The lawsuit has a surprising twist, and many don’t know what to do after it is settled in court and the explosive outcome. Charles hires a construction crew to begin building a home, office, and barn for Dr. Samuelson. Charles and Dr. Jim Samuelson return to Vallejo, and Charles is pleased with how Kuo Chang has assumed his duties as Head Gardener. Charles receives a telegram relating to the construction office in Philadelphia. His accountant, Caleb Coffee, was beaten and robbed. Charles and the family return to Philadelphia, and Charles and Blank take matters into their own hands when a local sheriff in New Hampshire doesn’t want to do anything about the beating and robbery.
