Charles, George, Gray Wolf, and Swimming Otter travel to Denver to seek the help of Hunt-U.S. Marshal to investigate the death of Colonel Hawks. Gray Wolf has an interest in becoming a U.S. Deputy Marshal, so Hunt makes Gray Wolf a temporary marshal and assigns him the task of riding with the posse and investigating the death of Colonel Hawks. Charles discovers a need for dairy, chicken, and pork products and looks for land to begin a large industrial farm, and searches for a building in Denver to establish a warehouse and a store front. While riding to discover new land Charles is bushwhacked by two criminals on the run, robbed  and left for dead. A massive manhunt is instigated by Hunt and the other available U.S. Deputy Marshals. Charles is found near death and is transported to a hospital in New Orleans where he awakens, but doesn’t know who he is and is surrounded by people that he has no memory of.

Charles plans a trip to England with Gray Wolf, Swimming Otter, and their families. But the day before he leaves, a ghost from the past appears and challenges Charles’s right to the horse farm, the construction company, and Charles’s bank account. After a dramatic shootout in the construction office, Charles and the families leave for England. There, he finds his old friend and hired hand on his deathbed, and decides to take him to the Royal London Hospital. Charles uncovers a plot in which a man plans to destroy the distillery’s ability to produce wine and scrambles to stop him. Charles scours England for fruit trees, making friends and enemies as he travels. He finds his beloved Friesian stallion shot in the head, and is framed for his new friend's murder. Charles, Gray Wolf, and Swimming Otter end up in a battle with the London's King’s College's star wrestling team. Charles has a vision and informs Gray Wolf and Swimming Otter what the future holds for them.

Charles helps the 164 slaves he purchased heal and transform from a life of slavery and abuse to a life of freedom and pride. He travels to Boston to assist his young protégé, Harvard student Conner Godfrey, who is having trouble with a local ruffian and his gang who have robbed him and are threatening further harm. While in Boston, Charles encounters his old friend, Colonel Hawks, attends another slave auction and buys all of the slaves once again. He stops in Louisville to see how his old friend, Sheriff Morgan Mann, is getting along. Charles finds himself involved in a conflict when a local man decides that Gray Wolf and Swimming Otter shouldn’t be there.

The Storm Warrior series continues as Gray Wolf and Swimming Otter travel with Charles who arrives in time to assist his construction site employees that are being threatened and abused by local ruffians. Gray Wolf and Swimming Otter encounter hatred and prejudice from whites and are attacked by locals. They accompany him to Boston for a slave buying trip, where they for the first time see what the slave auction is like. Judith begins teaching the Sioux women how to read and write the white man’s words, and  how to understand the money system.

Storm Warrior XI is filled with excitement and danger for Charles and his good friend George. Charles and George return to Denver and arrive just in time to help his old friend, Hunt-U.S. Marshal, track a gang of murdering bank robbers. When they return from the manhunt Charles prays and realizes that he needs to return to the Sioux’s camp, the Indian nations are starving due to mass extermination of buffalo by white hunters. The Sioux are prepared to go to war against the whites, which Charles hopes to prevent. He drives 3,200 head of cattle 800 miles to supply the Indians with meat, where he learns that a new Chief of the Sioux, who demands that whites leave Sioux lands in 2 days, has taken over. Charles says goodbye to his dying Sioux father and receives a last request that he isn't sure that he can fulfill.

Charles helps bright young Conner travel to Philadelphia to enroll into college, but Charles discovers his true career path. Charles returns to England with his trusted friend George and Conner. He learns that an old enemy plans to murder his vineyard master, his wife, and destroy the vineyard. Conner is shot in the melee and Charles rushes to save his life. Charles meets Captain Bernard Pennington, the same man that had at one time enslaved him, and the results of the meeting are stunning. After returning home to America, Charles takes the young man to Harvard and enrolls him into college, but is forced to file a complaint that could cost Conner an opportunity to attend.

Charles's adventures continue with a final showdown with neighbor Eunice Zimmer, then a trip to Kentucky for prize Thoroughbred mares. In Washington, he meets President Buchanan about the Indian situation and reconnects with Colonel Hawks. The news are alarming enough to prompt Charles to move his family and horses to Denver ahead of a looming North-South war. There, he helps U.S. Marshal Hunt track down an outlaw terrorizing ranchers who won't sell their property while scouting property of his own. Back East, Charles meets Abraham Lincoln in Springfield shortly after his "House Divided" speech, then returns a borrowed mare to Litchfield's surly sheriff.

Charles finally reaches his father's homeland to claim his inheritance, tackling problems at the wine distillery and scouting land for a vineyard, while earning local popularity by helping police track bandits and assisting them in a shootout with bank robbers. On a horse-buying trip, he's stunned to encounter Captain Bernard Pennington, the man who once enslaved him. As Charles and his family sail home, their ship comes under attack by three Spanish warships intent on capturing it and killing everyone aboard.

Storm Warrior buys a railroad construction company and sets about untangling its problems - first uncovering embezzlement in the corporate office, then confronting brutal conditions at three construction sites where workers are enslaved and overworked, forcing him to fire managers and crew leaders, but now has to replace them. He helps U.S. Marshals track down road agents and rescues a worker's son sold into slavery, before finally returning to Philadelphia to gather his family and sail for England to fulfill his father's wishes.

Storm Warrior leaves the Sioux Nation with his family and is escorted to Denver by cavalry, where he finds the city under siege by a Mexican bandit gang and helps U.S. Marshal Hunt hunt them down. On the way to Philadelphia, he stops to aid old friends being harassed by soldiers, then arrives to meet his mother-in-law and help wife Judith take control of the bank. After assisting local law enforcement in stopping a murderer and his hired guns, Storm Warrior becomes a construction company owner and acquires a large horse ranch before departing for England.

The Storm Warrior saga continues as he prepares to answer his father’s wishes and travel with his family to England after leaving his beloved Sioux. He plans to salvage what his father had begun 35 years ago. Storm Warrior encounters numerous challenges as he and his family convert to the white man’s way of life despite the obstacles he is forced to overcome.

The Storm Warrior saga continues as he pays surprise visits to the Blackfoot and Pawnee, working to foster peace despite deep-rooted tribal hatred and tradition. Amid battles, life-and-death fights, and personal joys and losses, unexpected visitors bring news from Storm Warrior's past, forcing him to choose between his life with the Sioux and the destiny his father laid out for him.
