Charles escorts the family from England around America and helps set them up at the Orlando orchard. While visiting his son, one of the young hired hands is nearly beaten to death in town and robbed. With Clayton and the Sheriff’s help, they find and arrest the man guilty of the assault. Charles travels to Annapolis and discovers Hubert Phillips, owner of Transcontinental Railway, is on his deathbed. Charles decides to take over the company, contacts the other 8% of stock owners, and attempts to buy them out before planning to move the company to Philadelphia.
