Charles escorts Rome, Alice, the kids, John, and Silvia to the different towns where he has ranches, hotels, and food stores. To Silvia’s dismay, John asked for training on running a pig farm. John argued that I get to live a short time in America and learn a valuable talent. Charles’ daughter, Judy, falls in love, and Judith steps in to calm him down when he is ready to destroy her suitor. After Rome and his family leave for England, Charles returns home and receives word that Denver is in trouble. An assassin plans to kill his son, C.W., and his family before going to California to kill Ghost and his family. Charles has visitors from the Sioux nation with complaints of an agent who is stealing and selling their food while the Indians are dying of starvation. Charles’ prize racehorse is ruined in New Orleans when he attends an auction to sell his unneeded colts.
