Hunt travels to Green River to check on the training progression and is amazed by what he finds. Hunt is confronted with the opportunity to buy the ranch in Cottontail Gulch, located at Parachute, that had belonged to Joe and Bradley Wiseman. Hunt is confused. The price is more than reasonable, but what would he do with the ranch? Hunt’s men are sent on missions to find bank robbers, and almost from day one of the investigation, they suspect the wounded sheriff of being part of the criminal gang. Hunt leads his men into New Mexico to confront an army of thirty-five Mexican soldiers who are raiding ranches, murdering men, women, and children, and asks the government for help from the Army. Hunt’s plea for help is ignored, and Hunt finds himself facing the armed Mexican militia alone with his men.
