Hunt helps a minister save his son from ten years in prison and sets him up as a hired hand on his cattle ranch. Hunt and his men travel to Fairplay to save the small mining community from three killers who have killed all of the miners and have taken over the mines and the town. Shooting people for no reason is one of their favorite pastimes. They have shot the pastor and the sheriff and have taken over those positions. Anyone not in church and tithing 100% of their money is shot. They even kill a 15-year-old boy for hiding a quarter in his pocket. Hunt and his men are asked to help two scientists on contract from the Smithsonian Institution. They found the complete fossil remains of a dinosaur and were run off by some men trespassing on government land set aside for prehistoric research. Hunt’s men travel to Durango to rescue a sheriff who is protecting a prisoner from a lynch mob. They arrive too late, and one of Hunt’s best men is shot on a wild night in Durango.
